Heyi blįsiš ķ hlöšu

Vélarnar eru afkastamiklar, en ekki rómantķskar.

„Žaš var um kvöld eitt aš Kötu ég mętti," kvaš Siguršur Įgśstsson foršum daga eins og žeir vita sem kunna og syngja Kötukvęši.

Sunnudaginn 7.

In English

Many Icelandic poems from the 20th century tell about the romantic times when people were making hayy in August, while the dusk covered something which should be hidden.

Today the machinery has taken over with all its noise. When I and Elin visited Skaftholt in Skeiša- and Gnśpverjarheppur in Southern Iceland (see liknks above) the farmer and his assistants were flowing the hay from a conveyor belt into the barn. The process was recorded using Nagra Ares BB+ with Rųde NT-2A and NT-55 in a MS Stereo setup. There is much difference between the low and high peaks of the recording which is best enjoyed in good headphones.

At the end of the recording Logi Pįlsson tells the listeners what they are doing.
