A construction side in Reykjavik.

In Reykjavik, east of Oddagata, a street at the area of The University of Iceland, a team of construction workers is currently building an apartment house with flats for students. These sounds are not as frequently heard in Iceland as in the years before the financial crash in 2008 and the econonic recession, which followed., when I and my wife passed by on our tandem 2 days ago. all kinds of machinery and old fashioned hammers were heard and many things more.

We went there again yesterday and I collected some samples of sounds.

A Nagra Ares BB+ was used, recorded at 44,1 kHz and 24 bits. Røde NT-2A and NT-55 omnidirectional were used in a MS-setup, covered by a blimp.

Good headphones are recommended. Please enjoy the noise!Take care of your ears and enjoy the sounds.
