Langdregin aventuhßtÝ ß Austurvelli

á

Sumar athafnir eru Ý svo f÷stum skorum a fßtt breytist nema rŠumenn og ■eir sem kynna ea skemmta.

L˙rasveit ReykjavÝkur hˇf a leika jˇlal÷g um kl. 15:30. Ůa spillti nokku hljˇmi sveitarinnar a hann var magnaur upp me hßt÷lurum. Um ■a bil 5 mÝn˙tur yfir 4 sÝdegis hˇfust rŠuh÷ld: kynnir, norski sendiherrann, gestur frß Ëslˇ og Jˇn gunnar Kristinsson, borgarstjˇri ReykjavÝkur. Loksins um kl. 16:20 var kveikt ß jˇlatrÚnu og lustu ■ß vistaddir upp fagnaarˇpi.

Um kl. 4 fˇr a fj÷lga mj÷g ß Austurvelli og voru ■ar foreldrar, afar og ÷mmur me b÷rn og barnab÷rn. Mestur hluti fˇlksins ■yrptist umhverfis trÚ og bei ■ar ˇ■reyjufullur, en ■anga heyrust hvorki kˇrs÷ngur nÚ rŠuh÷ld.

HÚr fylgir ÷rstutt hljˇdŠmi. Fyrst leikur L˙rasveit ReykjavÝkur hi undurfagra lag Sigvalda Kaldalˇns, Nˇttin var s˙ ßgŠt ein. SÝan bregum vi okkur a jˇlatrÚnu, reynum a greina lokaor Jˇns Gunnars og sÝan upphafi af Heims um bˇl.

MŠlt er me ■vÝ a borgarstjˇrn endurskoi ■essa hßtÝ og geri hana skemmtilegri fyrir b÷rnin. Flest ■eirra virtust ß heilei ■egar jˇlasveinana bar a gari. RŠuh÷ldin duga Ý Rßh˙sinu.

Notast var vi Olympus LS-11. MŠlt er me gˇum heyrnartŠkjum.

The Christmas Tree of Central Reykjavik

á

The city of Oslo donates a big christmas tree to Reykjavik City every year and has done so since 1951. On the first sunday of advent lights are turned on the tree. Then at least 3, if not 4 speeches are held and the children must wait until the lights are turned on.

today people started to gather around at Austurv÷llur in Reykjavik where the Reykjavik Brass Band began to play some christmas songs at 15:30. At around 16:00 the crowd moved towards the christmas tree to be closer to it. Then the speeches started and noone seemed to listen as nothing could be heard.

This compacted recording depicts the atmosphere during the ceremony. First the brass band playing a christmas song by Sigvaldi Kaldalˇns, then the last words of the mayor-s speech, he counting down until the lights are turned on and at that time a quire starts singing Wholy night. Afterwards the Icelandic christmas boys came to amuse the children, but most of them had got enough and were leaving.

Good headphones recommended.
