Útvarpsviðtal hljóðritað í boston og norður í Bitrufirði - A Radio Interview recorded simultaniously in Boston And Northwest Iceland

Mánudaginn 14. júlí síðastliðinn námum við Elín staðar norður í Bitrufirði á Ströndum til hvíldar frá akstrinum. Rétt eftir að við höfðum hallað okkur hringdi farsíminn og og á línunni var David Leveille, dagskrárgerðarmaður frá Boston, sem vinnur fyrir Public Radio International og BBC. Hann hafði eitt sinn haft samband við mig á póstlista áhugahljóðritara og óskað eftir að fá að nýta sér hljóðrit af hljóðblogginu.

Nú vildi hann fá viðtal. Ég taldi netsambandið varla uppfylla gæði fyrir

Skype. Spurði hann mig þá hvort ég væri ekki með hljóðrita meðferðis. Ég skyldi þá hljóðrita allt saman á meðan á samtalilnu stæði, senda sér síðan hljóðskrána og hann kæmi því svo saman.

Ég hafði heyrt af þessari aðferð og fannst hún athyglisverð, en aldrei reynt hana sjálfur. Afraksturinn fylgir hér. Tekið skal fram að ég var þessu algerlega óviðbúinn.

Ég sendi honum hljóðritið um leið og ég komst í sæmilegt netsamband.

Notaður var Olympus LS-11 hljóðriti.

On July 14 2014 I and my wife were driving en North-west Iceland heading south towards the Gauksmýri Lodge . As we had been travelling for some time we decided to take a rest in Bitrufjörður. We went to a side road and turned off tghe engine.Shortly afterwards the phone played The East is read and when I answered a producer from PRI

In Boston, David Leveille, was on the phone. I had caught his attention on a post list and he had contacted me earlier regarding some of my recordings. Now he wanted to make a Skype interview. As I was a little reluctant, due to the fact that the quality might not be satisfying, he asked if I did have a recorder with me. It would be possible to have the interview. I just needed to have my phone in on hand and the recorder in the other palm. I would record the whole conversation and my voice would later on be mixed together with his voice. As I had heard of this methode before and never used it in my broadcast work, I was eager to try it. The result is here below.

The interview is marked by the fact that I was not quite prepared. But the sound environment is quite interesting.
